Dr. Jamal is the Chairman of Almakki Almadni Community Trust, which was established in 2011 with a focus on health initiatives. Their observations reveal that the miseries in the area are so severe that people are often in despair, with no access to necessary medical services. The demand for healthcare far exceeds the available facilities.
The chosen area for their health work is the poverty-stricken and densely populated region of Tajpura and its surroundings in Lahore. In 2013, in collaboration with a pharmaceutical company, they started the Hepatitis Support Program, which adopted the strategy of “one donor, one patient.” They organized camps for diabetes, hepatitis, tuberculosis, and eye cataract treatments. With the support of the association, they established the first liver center, where all liver and gastroenterology-related services are provided free of cost.
Currently, they are conducting dialysis with 16 machines, and plans are in place to expand this to 40 machines. They have also introduced the Kidney Early Evaluation and Protection Program (KEEP), aimed at saving kidneys from the need for dialysis. Their system for Zakat evaluation is foolproof, ensuring proper utilization of funds.
The Almakki Almadani Dialysis Center is a great blessing for the people of this area, providing essential medical services to those in need.
